Well it's that time of year where we say goodbye to summer and say 'hello' to rains! The talk around these parts is that rainy season is starting... It's earlier then I remember but we really need it. It's been such a dry summer, everything is so brown throughout the Island. I think it only rained 3 or 4 times since January and then all of a sudden since we got back on Monday we've had a huge poor every afternoon with huge thunder and lightening storms! It's nice because it cools everything down and we've been loosing power around noon and bedtime for a couple hours each so it gets quite hot in the house with air conditioners or fans. One not so great thing is that it sure makes doing laundry outside really suck. Thankfully the machines are covered so it's just a small sprint from the dryer to the door! Unfortunately I'm not sure if our poor garden is going to survive since it's all new seeds and young plants starting to bud and the garden collects quite a bit of water.
The other night the power was out and there was a huge thunder storm so Ryan pulled out a sofa bed/couch into the driveway where the wind kept us cool and we sat out there with the kids and watched the lightening light up the sky!
