Ok, so its Sunday and although we didn't actually go to Streetwheelers today, we did partake in the goodness both Friday and Saturday with a little drive by the Show & Shine on the scenic way home from church today so I think that validates a post. I think our fun activity today was Uncle Derek came for dinner and he's fun even when he's eating so yay for Uncle Derek ... now onto Streetwheelers: Friday the really fab cars started driving by our house getting ready for the annual cruise and it got us pretty excited to find a prime location to check out the sweet rides. After our dinner we grabbed our chairs and walked the 2 blocks to 3rd Ave and set up camp right at the corner of a street light and waited. In our excitement we showed up way early and ended up sitting for a half hour before finally it really got going. I can not get over how amazing most of those vehicles were. The amount of time and money they pump into their cars is just incredible. Most of them were in perfect condition and I could only imagine the pride that the owners would feel after all the hours put into the cars, to be able to show them off. My kids were taking pictures of every car, pointing at their favourites and deciding which cars looked the fasted because of how loud they were or big the spoiler was on the back.
After a long while we packed up and walked home for bed. We sat on the front step for a while watching the fancy cars drive by until they eventually slowed and the show was over. The next day we checked out the low rider competition and some of the races until the track got too slippery from the rain. Boo. Although the races were pretty cool and I loved watching them smoke the tires my favourite was the tricked out truck that shot flames out the back. Sadly I missed getting the flames in the video but I did get and awesome wheely:
