Summer Vacay - Day 12: Basement Tenting

It has been pretty hot this week and last night on our main floor the thermostat was telling us it was 29*C. Our poor girls that sleep upstairs in the unventilated loft room were sweating buckets. Maddy started stirring, so I went up to try to settle her and the pillow was drenched and I think I might have been able to wring out the sweat in her hair (slight exaggeration). During the night we ended up moving them downstairs to the basement floor on sleeping bags. We had the thought that it would be way more fun to sleep on the floor if they were in a tent so, that's what we did today... During the day the kids helped me clean the toy room until every last toy/garbage was off the floor and put away in its proper place. It looked spic and span. Then after our yummy waffle dinner we went down and set up the tent. Wow. The kids were so excited that they got into their pyjamas at 5:30pm in preparation for tent sleeping. Fingers crossed they sleep tonight!
