Today was bubble day. Well, yesterday was going to be bubble day until I read the instructions on how to make them and discovered it needed to sit for 24 hours. So, after our 24 hour wait we tried out this bouncing bubble recipe I found online. I'm not too sure what it is about kids and bubbles but they just love them. Sadly the bubbles didn't bounce like I thought they would but they were super strong! Some landed on the grass or the kids without popping while others made it across the street or a few houses down the road which was pretty neat. For me the best part of the bubbles was the intense colours. They were purple, blue and pink when the sun shone on them and it awed the kids. Some were darker then others and although I tried to capture it with the camera it was tough.
It was so fun to actually blow these bubbles because it seemed like they just kept coming. You'd dip it once and breath after breath they would stream out of the wand. Once the bubbles were floating around the kids would catch them on their wands and then use that one bubble to blow many more. The bubbles also seemed to detect where obstacles were and keep their distance. For example, our house: The bubble would go straight towards the house and when it would reach about 6" away it would change direction and start going up along the walls until it cleared the roof and then keep floating up in the sky. It was almost like they were magic bubbles. I love magic.
